Everyone has different meaning of Happiness as per their state of mind. Contrary to being just a mood, happiness relates to how we feel on the inside. Happiness is a state of mind — an underlying sense of contentment, fulfillment, and satisfaction in our life.
Although everyone aspires for happiness in their lives, but despite having many things in your life we do not feel happiness. Many persons see the Happiness as an emotion, which can be fleeting and based on a specific event or circumstance, you usually tend to recall a moment celebrating something like a wedding or a birthday or when you are with your friends and family or achievement of your plans etc. You generally limit your response to specific events or experiences, which suggests that happiness can only be created by things, people, or occasions.
Happiness is not determined by what is happening around you, but rather what is happening inside you. Most people depend on others to gain happiness, but the truth is, it always comes from within. Here is the good news: The Happiness is already there within us which is readily accessible, often buried beneath layers of thoughts and emotions. All it takes is tapping into it and reconnecting with a happy state of mind.
You, and only you, are in control of your happiness and when you choose to expand your mind and to focus on the good, you will be happier.
Each of us has a happiness set point, or a fixed average amount of happiness that we naturally have within us which decides the limits of our Happiness, but you will be happy to know that the set point can be altered. You can rewire your brain to reset its happiness set point.
